Intercity and high-speed rail solutions
Developed for intercity and high-speed rail applications, the K147 and K146 series deliver controlled damping and stable vehicle behaviour under sustained dynamic loads. Their application-specific design allows each configuration to be matched to the vehicle’s suspension layout, operating speed and performance requirements.
At higher operating speeds, track irregularities, changing vehicle loads and dynamic forces place increasing demands on suspension systems. The K147 and K146 series were developed to maintain consistent damping performance, support vehicle stability and preserve passenger comfort throughout long-distance operation.
Both product families are built around a valve-controlled architecture. The K147 is designed for damping within primary and secondary suspension systems, while the K146 is configured for sway and yaw-control applications. A broad adjustment range in both damping directions enables precise adaptation to different vehicle platforms and operating profiles.
Key features
- Broad damping-force adjustment range
- Independent adjustment in both damping directions
- Suitable for high-speed rail applications above 250 km/h
- Designed for overhaul and return to service
- No metal-to-metal contact between friction elements
- Increased oil volume for improved thermal stability
- Dual dust protection
- Application-specific KARSUS valve design
The increased oil volume slows temperature rise during prolonged operation, helping preserve oil properties and maintain consistent damping performance over time. Together with dual dust protection and robust construction, this supports reliable operation under demanding intercity and high-speed conditions.
